Hide bookings essential
$50.00 per person (one sitting)

Spacious, comfortable and convenient for bird photography.

  • The bird hide is set up for afternoon bird photography, best time is generally the last few hours of light

  • Two baths are kept full of water which attracts birds to the hide. Perches are carefully positioned around the water where birds often land offering good photo opportunities

  • Chairs are provided. It is recommended that you use a tripod to reduce sudden movements and allow the hide curtains to remain closed

  • IMPORTANT: While we do our best to ensure a good experience, wild birds are unpredictable and payment is not refundable after hide use.

  • A lot of time and effort goes into the hide weekly, and in preparation for every hide session. This includes keeping the grasses mowed around the hide, keeping the baths full, watering plants, cleaning, selecting perches that look great, refreshing & cleaning perches, and making sure weeds are clipped so your photos have clean background as well as keeping an eye on what's coming in.  There will be great sessions but please also be prepared for quiet sessions - it does happen.

Birds visiting the hide changes often but most frequent are Crested Pigeon, Little Friarbird, White-winged Fairywren, Spotted Bowerbird, Purple-backed Fairywren, Willie Wagtail, Magpie Lark.
