SWIFT PARROTS

Sometimes, something amazing happens.

and that is exactly what happened on the twenty fifth of July 2022.

We were absolutely blown away to see, and to photograph critically endangered Swift Parrots in our area.

It was unusual to record them here, again showing that in the bird world, you just never know what might show up. An exceptional year for flowering due to above record rainfall, the Swift Parrots were found in the flowering eucalypts, specifically Iron bark and Yellow Box trees.

Did you know that there are estimated to be less than 1000 Swift Parrots left in the wild?

This would be our 213th species to record in the Lake Cargelligo area.

White-browed Treecreeper

On the 20th June 2022 we were absolutely delighted to finally see and photograph White-browed Treecreepers.

Our first ever sighting, the group we saw are likely an isolated population. Environment was woodland dominated by white cypress-pine, acacia, scattered yellow box and belah.

This would be our 212th species to record in the Lake Cargelligo area.

On this day, what else did we see?
